February PTI Blog Hop

"This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops! We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project! This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops, scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!"

Time again for the PTI Blog Hop!! Here is my scalloped card:

It is a little hard to see, but I used the medium sized scallop die on the bottom of my card and was thrilled to discover that the little images from Tag Its #1 fit so nicely in each scallop. I used a yellow/orange copic to give the candles a little spark! :)

It was also fun to find out how well the Think Big Stamps paired with the Fillable Frame Die!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Hopping!

Make it Monday Challenge: Glitter Strips

These Make it Monday challenges from PTI are certainly helping me deal with that "Manic Monday" feeling! :) This week, the challenge is to use scor tape to create a glitter strip. You can watch the video tutorial and find all the details here.

I was so excited to break in my new doily details die for this challenge! I was just as excited when I discovered my little Cuttlebug circle embossing folders fit beautifully in the center!! :) I used a little vintage cream to go over the embossing the give it a little pop of color.

I ended up using a black pen to highlight the glitter strip a bit because it seemed to get lost in the cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mega-Sized

Back with another card to participate in PTIs anniversary festivities and today the challenge is to create a mega-sized project. I thought it would be fun to make a large flower as my focal point using the Up, Up and Away die. I am sure someone has done this in the past, but it is so fun to make flowers out of other shapes, like hot air balloons!

After I diecut the balloons, I kind of rolled the larger ends to give them a more "flowery" feel.

Make it Monday #1 - Go-To Sentiment Card

I am really excited about the new Make it Monday series that PTI has started this week! Erin Lincoln put together an amazing video and that made me want to dig in and play along, so here is my card:

I stamped off the diamonds shapes and smaller sentiments to give it a more shadowy feel. I also stacked the hearts like Maile Belles did with her buttons to give it a little dimension, and I will definitely be using that technique again!!

I punched out a heart with some Pure Poppy cardstock and used that as a guide for my button heart, then punched out a smaller heart that I "glittered-up"!
